By: John E. Murray, III
Move in closer, don’t shy away,
For there is so much more we should say.
I shout your name into the stillness of night,
Yet hear merely echoes of a lone plight.
Move in closer, don’t be afraid,
For this comforting warmth, we both have made.
I extend my arms outward, but do not feel
The presence of your embrace to make it real.
Move in closer, don’t disappear,
For we have just cracked
The walls of loneliness and despair.
